The marriage of Wallis Jennings de Pantulf de Bary Macsherry Lord to Andrew Richard Hart took place Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, in Steeple Bumpstead, Suffolk, England.

The Rev. Kevin Thompson performed the double-ring Anglican ceremony in the 12th-century Church of St. Mary the Virgin.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Edmund Lord of Palm Beach and New York.

The bride's mother, Louise, is a former guidance counselor in the Montgomery County, Md., schools.

She is a former president of the Maryland State Guidance Counselor's Association and a member of the National Commission on Elementary Guidance and Counseling.

The bride's father is a former senior associate of the U.S. Department of Education. He is a playwright, screenwriter and author.

The bride's paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. James Andrew Lord of Waterbury and Milford, Conn.

Her maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Jennings Barkley Collins of Gettysburg, Pa., and Sharon, Conn.

The bride is descended from Fulque Fitzwarin, who was one of the Barons at Magna Carta.

The bridegroom is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. James Hart of Steeple Bumpstead.

His mother is an instructor at the Hockerell Anglo-European College in Bishop's Stortford. His father is the Vicar of St. Mary the Virgin Church and of St. Andrew's Church in Helions Bumpstead and is an author and novelist.

The bridegroom's maternal grandparents are Mrs. Marcelino Tejedor of Alicante, Spain, and the late Mr. Tejedor. His paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. George Hart of Goldbourne, Lancashire, England.

The bridegroom spent his childhood in Argentina.

The bride wore a strapless silk Mori Lee gown with a tulle skirt, accented with beading and sequins. She wore the 10-foot train and antique Alencon lace veil worn by her mother.

Sara Ann Ross Austin of Bethesda, Md., was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were the bride's sisters, Stavely Hampston de Hodnet Lord and Savile Collins de Montenay Lord, both of Washington, D.C.; the bride's sister-in-law, Mrs. Hayes Alexander Lord of New York; and the groom's sister, Anna Margarita Hart of Reading, England.

The flower girl was the groom's cousin, Ruby Hart, of Ness, Cheshire.

Best man was Matheu James Parr of Branston, Cheshire. The groomsmen were Simon Thomas Grayson and Gordon Ashton, both of Chelmsford, Essex; Lee David Bartley of Rainham, Kent; Nicolas Goldwasser of Hodesddon, Hertfordshire; Hayes Alexander Lord of New York; and Martin Smith of Reading, England.

Hayes Li Collins Lord of New York, the bride's nephew, was ring bearer.

The bride attended the McLean School and St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Bethesda, Md., and is a graduate of the Foxcroft School in Middleburg, where she received the Mallace Award.

She holds a bachelor of arts degree in archaeology from Boston University and a master's degree, with merit, in archaeological method from the University of Bradford, England.

The bride debuted in several cities and represented the United States at the Opera Ball in Vienna.

She is an environmental archaeologist for the city of Northampton, England, where she is known professionally as Wallis Lord-Hart.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Bishop's Stortford College in England. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Sheffield and was awarded an internship at the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Maryland.

He is a projects engineer with Security By Design, a security engineering consulting firm in Milton Keynes, England.

The reception took place at the University Arms Hotel in Cambridge. After a family brunch the next day, the couple left on a wedding trip to Maldives.

They are living in Northampton.
