The marriage of Veronica Fairbanks Morales Hendry of Cambridge, Mass., to Robert T. Effinger, also of Cambridge, took place Saturday, May 24, 2008, at the Bath & Tennis Club.

The Rev. Eddie Rodriguez performed the ceremony in the Grand Dining Room, which had been converted into a chapel.

The bride is the daughter of Mary Beatrice Murray Holguin of West Palm Beach and Ricardo Morales Hendry. Her maternal grandmother is Beatrice Fairbanks Cayzer of Palm Beach, London and Monaco. Her paternal grandmother is the late Isabel Hendry of Edinburgh, Scotland.

The bride is descended from seven Colombian presidents and U.S. vice president Charles Warren Fairbanks. She is the great-grand niece of Empress Eugenie of France.

The bridegroom is the son of Marcia Elice and Robert Effinger III of Houston. He is the grandson of Ramona Effinger of Chappell Hill, Texas, and the late Robert Effinger, and of Julia Peterson of Houston and the late William Peterson.

He is descended from a Texas pioneer family.

The bride's attendants were her sister, Vanessa Virgo, as matron of honor and nine bridesmaids.

The bridegroom's attendants were his twin brother, William, as best man and eight groomsmen.

The bride attended Marymount College and the International School of Economics in London and earned her bachelor's degree cum laude from Harvard University. The bridegroom graduated from Texas A&M University and is pursuing a doctoral degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

A dinner dance at the Bath & Tennis Club followed the ceremony.

After a honeymoon in Bora Bora, the couple is living in Cambridge.
