Bjorn Iversen of West Palm Beach died Wednesday, July 2, 2008, after a brief illness. He was 66.

Mr. Iversen was born in Oslo, Norway. He won the King's Cup in luge in 1960, 1961 and 1962.

After serving in the military, he moved to Canada and studied engineering at the University of Toronto. He became the Canadian and North American champion in luge. Mr. Iversen also competed in the Winter Olympics at Lake Placid, N.Y., and Innsbruck, Austria. He served on the board of the Canadian Olympic Association.

In Toronto, he was president of Voycall Communication and served as Ontario manager for GTE Microtel. In Ottawa, Ontario, he was general manager of Telecommunications Terminal Systems and president of BI Systems.

After moving to Florida in 1992, he became CEO of Coretex and president of Coastal Dynamics. He was a member of The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea.

Mr. Iversen is survived by his sister, Berit Iversen of Oslo; and his two children, Tanya and Justin Diamond of California.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethesda.

Northwood Funeral Home and Crematory, West Palm Beach, is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407, or to the American Cancer Society, 621 Clearwater Park Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33401.
