Charles Weeks Jr. of West Palm Beach, a longtime Realtor with Bolt Properties in Palm Beach, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at his home. He was 89.

Mr. Weeks was born April 25, 1919, in Palo Alto, Calif. to Charles Weeks and Mary Alice Johnson Weeks. His family moved to West Palm Beach in the late 1930s. He attended the University of Florida.

In 1940, he became a pilot under President Roosevelt's aviation expansion program at Morrison Field, now Palm Beach International Airport. He is considered the last surviving pilot of the Civil Air Patrol, Coastal Patrol 3 from World War II, called the "Puddle Jumpers of Lantana." From 1942-43, he flew 1,114 hours in single engine planes patrolling the coast. He served as a second lieutenant in the Army Air Corps from 1943-46.

Mr. Weeks had a 35-year career with Perry Publications, serving as corporate pilot and vice president in charge of real-estate holdings. He was a board member for several local banks.

He a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in West Palm Beach and was instrumental in starting the Guardian Angels of Lantana.

He was a past board member of the Hospice of Palm Beach County, South Guild; the Quiet Birdmen; the Palm Beach County Historical Society; and the Sailfish Club.

Mr. Weeks is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Blair Weeks; two daughters, Patricia Hannah and her husband, Michael, of Casselberry, and Phyllis Stoller and her husband, Dale, of Charlotte, N. C.; two sons, Brian Weeks of West Palm Beach and Blair Weeks of Apopka; and three grandchildren, Christopher Hannah, Katherine Stoller and Benjamin Stoller; and a niece, Jerry Peak of Davis, Calif.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
