Flo Stuart, a resident of Palm Beach since the early 1960s, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, after a battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was 85.
Mrs. Stuart was a founding member of the Banyan Golf Club and served on its hospitality committee. She also was on the founding board of the Morse Geriatric Center, serving as chairwoman of the Israel Bond Dinner Dance at The Breakers.
She was married for 63 years to Irv Stuart, who preceded her in death.
Upon their retirement from their resort in Montauk, N.Y., the Stuarts led small groups to Europe. Mrs. Stuart wrote restaurant reviews for various publications.
Mrs. Stuart is survived by her children, Joan Stuart of Atlanta, and Ronald and Alice Stuart of Riverside, Conn.; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Stuart of Denver, Marc Stuart of Boston, Sean Stuart of Greenwich, Conn., and Amber Stuart of Riverside.
Mrs. Stuart was cremated. Her remains will be mingled with those of her husband; a burial at sea is planned for a later date.
