Doris L. Montgomery of Delray Beach, who was employed by two Worth Avenue retailers, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton. She was 82.
She worked for Stinchfield's for many years, leaving in 1985 to work for Sara Fredericks until the 1990s.
Mrs. Montgomery was born Aug. 15, 1925, in Pittsburgh. She graduated from the Academy of St. Elizabeth's in Convent Station, N.J., and attended the University of Pittsburgh. She was a resident of Delray Beach for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Montgomery is survived by three daughters, Penelope Diebold of Maine, Lonna Higgins of Massachusetts and Michele Trombley of Virginia. She also is survived by a sister, Anne M. Steidle of Pennsylvania; a half-brother, Robert Montgomery of New Jersey; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. July 26 at Unity of Delray Beach, 101 N.W. 22nd St., followed by a Celebration of Life at Ellie's '50's Diner.
