Dorothy P. Koeppel of Hollywood, Fla., mother of Joel P. Koeppel of Palm Beach, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, on her 90th birthday.

Mrs. Koeppel was born May 21, 1910, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She graduated from New York University and was a lifetime member of Hadassa.

She was married to Louis Koeppel, who preceded her in death. They created the Louis D. Koeppel Foundation.

Besides her son and his wife, Carole, Mrs. Koeppel is survived by two other sons, Mitchell Koeppel of Great Neck, N.Y., and Richard Koeppel and his wife, Susan of Brookville, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service was held Friday at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Glendale, N.Y. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Joel Koeppel, 215 Southland Road.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Koeppel's name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
