Bernice Judith Sherman Mann, formerly of Palm Beach, Philadelphia and Palm Springs, Fla., died Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at her home in Palm Beach Gardens. She was 86.
Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Mann divided her time as a youth between Germantown, Pa., and Atlantic City, N.J.
During one summer at the shore, she was named Miss Atlantic City. She also met her husband of 62 years, Stanley Mann, on the boardwalk.
She attended Girl's High in Philadelphia and graduated from Women's College at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was named Miss Stage Door Canteen.
Mrs. Mann was a light opera singer at the Bucks County, Pa., Playhouse.
She moved to New York in the 1940s and worked as a John Conover model.
Mrs. Mann is survived by a daughter, Meredith Mann Kahoe-Berry; two sons, Kevin Frances Berry and Robert William Mann; and eight grandchildren, Alex, R.G., Scott, Max, Zoe, Keeley, Emily and Leah.
Funeral services are private.
