Mayor Updates Palm Beach Realtors
Mayor Jack McDonald, guest speaker at the Palm Beach Board of Realtors luncheon Wednesday, told members not to worry if his topic bored them because he’d be moving on to a new one presently.
Now here’s a politician who keeps his word!
McDonald briefly touched on subjects ranging from the town’s landmarking process — specifically, how long a property should be under consideration, or in “pending” status, which the Town Council will consider at its October meeting — to outdoor dining. An unofficial audience poll indicated support for more dining al fresco — “and drinking,” one jocular member suggested.
McDonald finished up with a giveaway — two tickets to the Flagler Museum — to the person who could most closely guesstimate the number of single-family homes in Palm Beach.
And the winner was … attorney Gary Nagle, who came closest with 2,400.
There are 2,633 single-family homes on the island, Hizzoner revealed. So now we can all go forth and astonish our friends with this precision nugget of Palm Beach trivia.
