Soaking Up A Palm Beach Summer

I’m back from my week-long altitude adjustment (cue The B-52’s) and can hardly believe we’ve ripped off another calendar page.

For those of us with children in public school, summer officially ends Aug. 18. Yes, that’s the sound of me crying. Anyone else feel the same way?

I love the summer just as much as my kids do … No 5 a.m. alarm clock settings, no homework supervision, and lots of after-work trips to the beach — what’s not to love?

Which reminds me — have you watched reporter Margie Kacoha’s video of the sights and sounds of summer? (Link: Palm Beach Summer Scenes)

It’s a lovely reminder that you don’t need to leave town to find paradise. And a great postcard to email to a friend.

I love summer too! No weekends spent driving all over the state to soccer games, no evening meals interrupted by sports practice, and lots of lazy, crazy days spent relaxing with kids and friends with tourist-free roadways and restaurants. Sounds like your altitude adjustment is just what the dr ordered!

Morgan, my hat’s off to you for making the travel soccer thing happen! Those routines are CRAZY! Glad to hear you’ve had a great summer. And you are right about the altitude adjustment — a silly injury a few days before vacay sent me in to the doctor, who told me “you’ve got to slow down.” Which makes me wonder — do you suppose I can submit my expenses to insurance?! Thanks for checking in!

I always enjoyed staying in Palm Beach during the summer. I did a “liturgically” oriented reflection on that at
