A Little Child Shall Lead Them

RIOULT

Sunday, October 12 at 5 pm

In Dreyfoos Hall

In this performance you will see two stories told through dance. One is Pascal Rioult's unique interpretation of Igor Stravinsky's renowned Firebird. In Rioult's version, a community of lost souls is brought back to humanity through the magical intervention of a small child – the firebird, the symbol of hope and rebirth. The other tale, Small Steps, Tiny Revolutions, is the story of a young boy whose desire to dance is forbidden by his father. The boy's dreams lead him to the fantastic land of shapes and his father's poignant search to find him shows the transforming power of love. The power of youthful innocence to create change for the better is the common theme of these two very different and exciting Rioult works.

The Music of John Denver and Dan Fogelberg

Thursday through Saturday,

April 2-April 4

Thursday and Friday at 8 pm

Saturday at 2 pm and 8 pm

In Rinker Playhouse

The songs of John Denver and Dan Fogelberg have a special association with Colorado and the Rocky Mountains. In very different ways, these two troubadours epitomized the singer-songwriter movement of the 70's that grew out of the folk scene of the previous decades. Denver's songs are often celebrations of the natural beauty of the Rockies; Fogelberg's more often tell complex stories of personal relationships. But the sound common to both, based on acoustic guitar and featuring a soaring tenor voice, is the sound of an era that re-discovered the romance of natural America.
